in the Recording Studio

I love putting on a pair of headphones and sitting behind a mic with my cello (or voice!) My background in both the classical and rock worlds means that I can pump out tunes via sight reading or improvisation. I really love to help artists write cello parts for their albums and I can vocally harmonize with anything.

Some kind words...

"The shivers of strings in “Two Worlds Collide” and “Really Long Year” subtly frame both Ms. Thomas and her slow turn from hurt to hopeful." - The New York Times, Nate Chinen

“The biggest improvisational contribution came from Seattle Rock Orchestra cello player, Emily Peterson. Her on-the-spot layering gave the night’s reflective folk-pop songs an extra hint of sensitive personality.” - Sound Magazine
